One of the most difficult things for most twenty or thirty-something aged men is finding a date.  Women don’t come easy for most men. Before you scoff at this statement, you may want to sit back and listen for a moment.

This is because most young people, men included, think that the task of trying to find a date is easy. As a teenager, you think that girls will be falling at your feet when you attain a certain social stature, for instance. You will unfortunately, be rudely awakened by reality once you experience your first rejection during your late twenties, when you’re earning your own keep.

This isn’t saying that it is impossible for men to find a date. You will be surprised that it is, in fact, quite simple. All you need is some help.

• First of all, get one very important (and false) notion out of your head – that women go for good-looking, successful men. While it wouldn’t hurt for you to have a stable job and a presentable appearance, these are sometimes enough. You need not be rich and handsome to get a girlfriend.

• Most decent women want nothing more than a decent man. Stop acting like a stud with all your pickup lines. They just won’t wash with the ladies, the good ones at least. Simply be yourself, no matter how boring you think you are. You can easily find a date by simply being you.

• Make her feel special. Don’t treat your lady like some conquest. Pay attention to what she has to say. Respect and be mindful of her feelings. Remember the little things like whether or not she would want to eat at this restaurant, for instance. You may want to ask her where she would like to go on your date. Don’t simply dictate. The days of the caveman have long gone along with the caveman himself.

If you follow these simple tips, you will be able to find a date in no time at all. In order to keep your date however, you need to keep working at it. Take your time and remember to be honest and up-front and you could find yourself in a relationship that’s really going somewhere.
