Holding Back To Show That You Do Love Him

Girls can sometimes be too overbearing in their relationships with guys. It just plain puts guys off most of the time. It’s all right to love him, of course, but it won’t do you any good to be to openly brazen about it. You sometimes need to hold back a little to show him you do love him. He’ll respond better to that strategy and before you know it he’ll be the eager one.

Guys actually want to be in a relationship that’s loving and kind. What they don’t want is a girl who seems to be taking over and running the relationship. This might just be her eagerness for him. Perhaps she likes to kiss him all the time, or gaze into his eyes constantly. Guys don’t always like this. They need to feel that they can control the situation. Here’s how to hold back to show that you do love him.

1. He needs to be the one to set the pace, so let him. Pushing him too fast won’t work. Guys have a stubborn streak that will come to the fore if you try. He’ll dig in his heels and nothing will happen. Of course, you can encourage him without him realising that you are doing it. You can gently make him think that he’s setting the pace. All that is quite legitimate, but whatever you do, make sure that he thinks he’s in control!

2. Guys don’t always like it when the girl tells him that she loves him too early into the relationship. You may well feel you love him, but hold back from saying it too early. Try instead to subtly encourage him to say it first. This can be a challenge, but it isn’t too difficult really. If he says, “I love you” first, then he feels in control. He is setting the pace and it then becomes your turn to say it back to him. You’ll have a happier boyfriend and a better relationship as a result.

3. In the early stages of the relationship especially, be careful of embarrassing him with your affection. This comes back a bit to letting him set the pace. Don’t be all over him all the time, hugging and kissing him. It looks silly to others and it will make him feel uncomfortable too. Don’t, on the other hand, become frigid. By all means show affection, but keep it don’t to sensible levels. He’ll see that as a mature attitude and he’ll love it too.

Guys can easily be pushed away by girls who jump on board too fast. Guys are usually a bit scared of committing, and if he thinks you are all out for a wedding ring, he’ll run faster than an Olympic champion to get away. Learning to hold back a little in order to get what you really want may seem a strange way of going about it, but it usually works best. It puts the emphasis on him and lets him think that he’s the boss who is calling the shots. Guys are easily duped, but in a nice way, so use your wily powers and hold back to show that you do love him.
